I think that what the school is doing is a good idea, the Ruckus program will work good, but probably wont prevent people from using limewire, even though they know the effects of viruses just because it is free..

i think that downloading music is not the way to go, but we have to understand that people will share music no matter what. If this program exist it will not stop anything.

This program will not stop anything because it is pointless to download music if you cant even put in on an ipod. What is the point of downloading any music if you cant take it with you to work out or anything like that? I want music on my computer so that i can put it on my ipod and take it places not just have it on my computer.

I don't think it would work very well. For one, if the chance were offered to me, I would turn it down for the simple fact that you can't put them on an iPod, something I listen to all of my music on. I'd stick with iTunes for the simple fact that it's legal and I won't get in trouble for using it.

Although I know downloading music is illegal and that this program is being promoted to eliminate that I do not think it would work. To truly stop college students from using these illegal sites they will have to completely do away with them. Until that time though Limewire, Bittorrent, and sharing music between students will exist.
